Without a doubt here is the most exciting drop of the season. Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza also called the Group or rather Il Gruppo was free-improv super group comprised of creme de la creme of italian avant / experimental composers. Il Gruppo was initiated by Franco Evangelisti in 1964 and existed till his death in 1980. Its shifting line up included Egisto Macchi, Ennio Morricone, Walter Branchi, Giancarlo Schiaffini or Antonello Neri (to just name a few).

Their mindblowing discography included masterpieces such as pro-kraut / psych funk album Feed-Back, avant / improv milestones like Musica su Schemi, but Il Gruppo also played on several Morricone's genius soundtracks like Gli occhi freddi della paura or A Quiet Place In The Country.

Just in case you never cared to listen to Il Gruppo i suggest you dive head first and you have weeks and weeks of exciting music to listen to.
