No Points - Weekend Warrior (2025, mc/digital)

Monaco Grand Prix. May 19th 1996. This date will be remembered as one of the wettest Monaco races in the history of Formula One World Championship. Three racers (Panis, Coulthard, Herbert) made it to the podium (out of 22 racers starting) and it was not because they were particularly the best ones in the race: they were only three racers left on the lap.

Weekend Warrior, an album by No Points is a musical and sound elegy dedicated to the moments and racers in the history of Formula One such as the one mentioned above. Bitter wins, hard loses, fried engines, shocking crashes, years of sticking in the competition and earning very little to no points.

Bob Post and Jack Flap, duo of musicians behind No Points, never stood on the winner's podium themselves. But they know all the hard work in the underground music industry. Relentless gigging in small avant clubs of Prague, playing late nights only to receive drunk applause from few friends that stayed in hope for free drinks from the artist tap. Endless after-work nights working on their gear and patching their synths at danger of damaging their sight and sound. Negotiations with unreliable small label bosses, who promise “to put your album out any day now, buddy”. Promoters who never get you a table big enough to set up your gear. Will Bob Post and Jack Flap ever gonna get the sniff of the win themselves?

Welcome to the world, where to score 1 (one) point is like a win!

Weekend Warrior is out now on Stoned to Death. Available on cassette (edition of 50) and digital.
