Organ of Corti - Lues / Delirium (2024, 7”)

One track on this 7” ep is called Lues, the other Delirium and after listening to this new installment to ever growing Organ of Corti discography I can confirm that those titles are a fair fit for the music. Lues is a medical term for syphilis and indeed, once you spend some time with this otherworldly music you won’t come back home as clean as you once were. Delirium, state in which you are not able to think or act straight followed by symptoms of fever, sleepiness and confusion. I can’t imagine a better soundtrack for a delirious mind and I just must admire how clinical and frightening this music gets.

Organ of Corti is a trio of Swedish sound artists and experimental music vets Joachim Nordwall (iDeal), Dan Johansson (Sewer Election) and Mattias Gustafsson (Altar of Flies). Seven inch is their favorite way to communicate with the public and mindful eye may have noticed that this is not their first vinyl correspondence this year. Previous OOC titles were released on labels like New Forces, Dead Minds, iDeal and No Rent.

This seven inch EP is accompanied by artwork by wonderful maestro Matteo Castro (Second Sleep label) and those who follow his work will confirm this cover is one of his strongest pieces to date. Music mastered by talk=trouble.
